This is a unique and collectible upright bass, if you are seriously in the market for this email us for more pictures and details about it.

**We bought this bass with the understanding that we'd get a letter that Bill Johnson wrote when he gave this bass to a family friend many years ago. It did not come with that letter and we're trying to get it now to prove that this was Bill Johnson's bass. We believe it to be, but need to get concrete proof still.

We have not done a setup to this bass as we are keeping it in original condition ready to place in a museum. We just took the original strings and tailpiece off, grabbed a bridge and strings to string it up so we could hear it.

Bill Johnson is known as 'The Father of Slap Bass', and this could be his main bass he was playing when he was developing early jazz music which included some slap techniques.
