This Regal Traditional Squareneck Series RD-40 has a round-shouldered, deep body made to play hard. The soundwell is constructed of northern rock maple for a firm platform for cone vibration. And in keeping with tradition, the soundwell features rhombic shaped tone ports. The cone itself is 10-9/16" diameter and has been spun to rounder contours to avoid disruption in tone transmission. The spider is a Regal-designed hard alloy which is stronger and lighter than others. You can expect a volume boost of 30% - sure to earn the respect of insensitive banjo pickers!
