These Bassoons are carefully hand crafted by people of Kraslice Czechoslovakia.
The manufacturing of brass & woodwind instruments has been a long-lived tradition in Kraslice for over 400 years. Old archives in this area reveal that the first people to make these instruments settled here during the second half of the 16th century when Kraslice was a flourishing minerstown. In September 1945, a Cooperative of musical instrument manufacturers was established in Kraslice. Because the production of both wind and stringed instruments was anticipated, the Cooperative was given the name AMATI KRASLICE.
They now carry on the tradition of carefully crafting brass and woodwind instruments inlcuding the Rotary Valved horns invented by C.F. Cerveny. Cerveny's production line merged with and is part of Amati Kraslice now.
As can be expected their bassoons are made to professional standards of the finest materials and careful crafting to ensure each part is fitted and adjusted right. Expect perfection from their instruments, at a bargain price.
As a matter of cold fact some companies, that make instruments by hand with exacting attention to detail like Amati does, sell their instruments for several times as much as Amati.
